Fortnite Defeat Glyph Master Raz and collect the Spire Artifact Walkthrough Season 6 Chapter 2

Quest prerequisites – do these before trying this quest!

Before you can complete this quest, you must do all other Spire quests first. You do need to duel Jonesy The First and then Talk to Him, for which we have provided a guide. You also need to gather information on Raz from Lara Croft, Raven, Cluck, or Cobb for which we have also provided a guide. After you complete all other time-limited Spire quests you will be able to defeat Raz.

TIP: Trying to defeat Glyph Master Raz directly won’t work if you didn’t complete the rest of the Spire challenges. You will be able to kill him, but you wouldn’t be able to pick up the artifact to complete the challenge so make sure you complete all other Spire quests first.

Is it hard to defeat Glyph Master Raz and collect the Spire Artifact in Fortnite Season 6 Chapter 2?

I’m going to start by mentioning that this is nowhere near an easy quest. Glyph Master Raz has copious amounts of health and it’s so OP with his magic attack that drains your health from a distance that you will certainly have a hard time completing this one. With that being said, this is a time-limited quest so you better finish it before the timer reaches the end.

Glyph Master Raz is what resulted from normal Raz, the semi-friendly NPC from the beginning of the season when he went out of his way to discover the Spire’s secrets. As it turns out, the power of the Spire is way too hard to control and it has since possessed Raz turning him into some sort of overpowered demon.

It’s worth mentioning that as of v16.30, Glyph Master Raz effectively replaced the boss at the Spire (The Spire Assasin). She’s no longer at the center Spire on the map. Instead, if you go there you have to fight Glyph Master Raz which far worse because he’s so overpowered.

What is the best loadout to use when attempting to defeat Glyph Master Raz?

The perfect loadout would be a gold scar, gold pump, gold SMG and a Bazooka, but what are the chances you’ll get that? Instead, here’s what worked for me and it may work for you too. When I approached Raz I made sure to have at least decent weapons, though it’s worth mentioning that you can only do this challenge in Solo, Duos, Trios, Squad, or Arena. This challenge cannot be completed in Team Rumble or Battle Lab, so the loot won’t exactly be stellar.

Most of the loot you’ll find on these game modes is green (uncommon), sometimes blue (rare), and maybe if you are lucky, some purple (epic) stuff. The good news is that I’ve managed to beat Raz myself with mostly green loot and just one purple Primal SMG which did help a lot.

Here’s the loadout I had when I beat Glyph Master Raz:

  • Uncommon (green) Assault Rifle
  • Uncommon (green) Pump shotgun
  • Epic (Purple) Primal SMG
  • Mini shields
  • Spare Medkits
  • Full Health and Full shield.

I do have to mention that I have barely managed to beat him with this loot. If you can find better quality loot, it’s best to use that. Green loot barely managed to do a dent and I have mostly relied on my Epic Primal SMG and a ton of healing and running.

Here’s the recommended loot to fight Glyph Master Raz:

  • Epic Assault Rifle (Scar) or better
  • Epic Pump Shotgun or better
  • Epic SMG, Primal SMG or Tac SMG, or better
  • At least 6 mini shields
  • 3 Med packs or Floppers
  • Full shield and health
  • A ton of materials to build ramps, walls, and boxes to heal or quickly escape.

The better the loot, the less you will run to hide and heal up.

Pro TIP: While attacking him, Raz will spawn a purple glowing aura around him and start draining your health from distance. Your shield will not be affected and it doesn’t count towards the damage he gives which is bad because you only have 100 HP to rely on. Do not let him drain more than 30% of your HP because while you run to hide and heal, the effect of his magic attack still lingers for a few more seconds potentially killing you.

Fortnite Defeat Glyph Master Raz and collect the Spire Artifact

What is the best strategy to Defeat Glyph Master Raz and collect the Spire Artifact?

I would say the best way to tackle Glyph Master Raz is from distance. If you keep a good enough distance and stay concealed, it’s actually very easy to defeat him because he will just show a question mark and do nothing. It’s probably a glitch, however, getting the distance right is hard. If he spots you, he will start attacking. Do keep in mind that Raz can teleport pretty fast and he will, in fact, teleport once you start shooting. He doesn’t go too far, but it’s enough to defend himself from your bullets. It seems that he doesn’t teleport until he actually shows the red exclamation mark on top of his head, meaning he’s seen you.

The “spray and pray” technique also works, and it is in fact the method I have used in my fight with him. A good quality SMG or primal SMG does help a lot, but the closer you are, the easier it gets for Raz to start his magic attack that drains your health. You may need to run more often through the Spire village to find a corner to hide and heal back up if you decide to tackle him from close range.

Explosive stuff works great. If you can find an explosive bow or maybe some nades or a bazooka, that would work great, but do keep in mind that Raz has a mythic explosive Bow too so he can definitely tackle you from distance.

How to collect the Spire Artifact after defeating Raz?

Upon eliminating Glyph Master Raz, a purple crystal will drop on the ground as well as a mythic explosive bow and some other loot. Approach the purple crystal, then press and hold Square on PlayStation, “E” on PC, or whatever key you assigned for interacting with items in order to collect it. Once you collect it, you should get a notification from the left side of the screen that you’ve successfully completed the quest and you shall be granted your XP and you will unlock Glyph Master Raz edit style, an additional style for the legendary Raz outfit.
